Forge is designed to care for four young people between the ages of 7-17, of all genders, who require medium to long-term placements.
Forge House is a detached property situated in Tonyrefail. It is located at the end of a cul de sac which offers privacy to the young people.
The home has recently been refurbished with modern fittings.
The home is located in a quiet area but has very good transport links into Cardiff which offers a variety of activities including Tennis clubs, swimming pools, shopping centres, theatres, and cinemas. There is also a range of activities located in the Porth area. The location lends itself to young people being able to experience new and preferred activities

I am the Registered manager in a 4-bedroom home. I have been responsible for overseeing the development and operation of 5 residential homes within the company. Having worked in the social care sector for 5 years and previously in the housing sector for 6 years in sheltered schemes, extra care and a bespoke repatriation service working alongside the NHS.
I observe, analyse, plan and review the progress of Young Persons. Advising guiding and instructing other professionals on intervention strategies to challenge and support them in raising standards of inclusive practice. All while practising the therapeutic approach In line with PACE and TRM.

I have a QCF Level 5 in Children’s and I have a QCF Level 5 Adults. I have worked in the care sector for 16 years, with adults with mental health difficulties; during this time, it became evident to me that childhood trauma contributed heavily to their mental health diagnoses. This encouraged me to work with children to help them to gain a better insight into themselves, to learn new skills, and to thrive once they leave our care.
