Liz Blakey
Therapeutic Lead
Liz is a UCKP registered psychotherapist with over 15 years’ experience of working clinically across a number of settings, including as an adoption therapist, a visiting therapist at an NHS trauma centre and several periods as a staff counsellor in challenging settings within the health service. With a background in person centred counselling and psychotherapy and a special interest in developmental trauma and attachment theories, Liz has a solid grounding in trauma informed care and approaches.
Alongside practicing as a therapist, Liz is an independent panel member of Leicestershire County Councils adoption panel and has been doing and loving this for over a decade. She also delivers training nationally on understanding self-harm in young people and has won an ‘Excellence in Social Care’ award for this training package.
As the therapeutic lead for Ty Caredig, Liz will be supporting and nurturing the staff through ongoing training, reflective sessions and prioritising a trauma informed focus, along with working alongside therapists providing direct interventions for our young people, keeping person centred care at the heart of everything we do.Alex works with Ty Caredig Ltd. to identify training needs and create bespoke training in Trauma-informed and Therapeutic Practice.

Rhianna Laraman
Head of HR Services
Rhianna is our Head of HR Services and joined Ty Caredig in 2025, bringing experience from supporting sites specialising in R&D and manufacturing. She has a BSc in Human Resource Management and has worked in HR for 6 years, with particular focus on employee engagement and training & development.

Dr Hanna Leahy
Head of Wellbeing and Culture
Hanna has 15 years working as an applied academic in a multi-disciplinary approach to organisational culture and health behaviour change. This includes delivering, setting up and evaluating interventions at an individual, group (manager), organisation and public health levels.
Hanna has a PhD in changing organisational culture to increase engagement and wellbeing, is a registered member of the British Psychological Society (GMBPsS), and trained to advanced level in Motivational Interviewing. They have worked with a large variety of organisations training health professionals in MI

Lauren McCartney
Responsible Individual
Lauren has worked in the health and social care sector for 17 years, in a variety of roles which include complex needs day services, domiciliary services for adults and children, and commissioning for children’s social services. She has an MSc in Clinical Psychology and holds registered manager status.
